This Victorian floor in Belper, Derbyshire was a real tough cookie, mainly because of the material used for the tiles. You be forgiven in thinking that they are all unglazed clay bodied tiles, but they are not. Only the red, black and brown colours are clay, the buff colours are made from sandstone which being so very porous has drawn 100+ years of dirt and staining too deep within the body to completely remove. A nice Edwardian tiled hallway floor in Belper Derbyshire. After removing the old polish that had aged and changed colour, we deep cleaned the floor and applied a quality satin finish to enhance the colours and protect the tiles from wear.

This Victorian tiled hallway floor in Belper, Derbyshire had a coating of old sealer underneath which was trapped dirt that would forever reduce this floor natural good looks. After stripping away said sealer, we thoroughly cleaned the floor right into the edges and corners, and finished the floor off with a colour enhancing high gloss polish. Restoration details here
