This Victorian tiled hallway in Birmingham was laid in a herringbone design with tiles from Craven Dunnill. And as you can see the tiles were covered with our most loathed of coverings; shellac varnish. The varnish had really soaked into the tiles, removing this was never going to be easy. This herringbone tile floor in Harborne needed a deep clean and a good seal to draw out those lustrous Victorian tile floor colours. After removing remnants of old polish and some ingrained dirt we set about cleaning away the cement residues that has collected in the pores of the tiles over the years. Restoration details here
